Chicago Media Documentary
This is a documentary I created for a group project about the negatively-biased news coverage which affects the South Side of Chicago. For the project, I was tasked with interviewing a media expert (a local Chicago radio host), conducting credible and relevant research, editing our video footage and providing narration throughout the documentary.
Persuasive Research Essay
This is a persuasive research essay which gained recognition as a winner of the DePaul First Year Writing Showcase (2022) out of over 100 submissions. For the assignment, I was tasked with choosing a position on a sociopolitical issue, researching and analyzing scholarly works that supported my thesis, and using them to craft a well-organized persuasive essay. Podcast Episodes
These are episodes of a podcast I created during my time at DePaul. For the theme of the podcast, I wanted to examine the effects which internet culture has had on Gen Z’s experiences and perceptions of romance and sexuality. In analyzing this issue, I was tasked with crafting interestingly complexed questions, identifying and interviewing relevant subjects (Gen Z individuals with different perspectives), and editing and adding music to the audio I recorded to create a smooth listening experience.
Magazine Spread
This is a magazine cover and spread which I designed for an InDesign workshop I completed at DePaul. For the project, I had to choose two previously-written articles from DePaul’s campus publication and craft a cover and feature spread based on the stories. In crafting these designs, I had to combine all the InDesign software skills I gained with my creative vision to craft stylish, engaging representations of the stories. After constructing the overall look of my designs, I then evaluated the smaller details within them to ensure that they appeared clean and professional.
